It's wonderful that your husband and his ex can share custody in such a manner and bring the kids up in a loving environment. Amanda has a son and 3 step-daughters with her boyfriend. She and Eddie are bringing them up in a loving way, and unfortunately, can't share with the biological mother. Perhaps you should contact her for that story, which is not mine to tell. I assumed it wasn't that big of a deal since there wasn't much attention to it. Part of me is very bothered by the inequities shown here, but these are really created and perpetuated by men themselves. It's the male psyche and ego that get in the way. We feel compelled not only to protect but also to be able to handle anything that comes our way, alone if possible. We're not very good at accepting help and wearing a ribbon or doing a "walk for prostate cancer" doesn't come natural. I'm not sure what the answer is or who can save us from ourselves, but it is what it is. Thanks for posting this! I agree it's important that fathers have rights too.
